The Green Lantern movie is going to be a tough one for Warner Bros. to pull off, but if the latest rumor turns out to be legitimate, then justice might very well be served once and for all.
According to reports from Collider, Warner Bros. is not planning to create a movie about a single Green Lantern, but about the whole Green Lantern Corps. This would make perfect sense since the Corps is basically a league of space police officers who protect the universe from all sorts of crazies.
Focusing on the league means there's going to be more than one Green Lantern member in the film and, according to Collider, the plan is to have at least two to three human Lanterns.
Who are the possible three choices? The reports claim fans should look out for Hal Jordan, John Stewart and Guy Gardener. As it stands, it is possible all three could be the lead in the new film, but only one will appear in Justice League - Part One and Justice League - Part TwoTwo.
We suspect since Hal Jordan is the most popular and his backstory is more interesting, he might be the one to show up in the Justice League films to help the league defeat whatever might become a threat to the whole planet.
The publication also reports that the Green Lantern franchise will never focus on a single member of the Corps, but always two or more.
If Warner Bros. is indeed going down this road, it is very much possible the company could reveal both Green Lanterns at Comic-Con. If this does happen, Hall H is going to erupt like a volcano.
At the end of the day, we like this idea of focusing more on the Corps instead of just a single member. It could be the Warner Bros. version of Guardians of the Galaxy, a movie that is set in the same universe as the Justice League, but it doesn't take place on earth.
For now, we suggest waiting for Comic-Con to find out for sure if this is the path Warner Bros. is going with the DC properties, because something big is bound to happen, and we'll be here to drop the mic.
