You Can Now Buy Sony Xperia C4 Via Amazon For $379 But There Is A Catch

The Sony Xperia C4 is on sale now for $379 in the U.S. market via Amazon, but there is a catch and it should be a deal breaker for anyone planning to live in the States for the next two years.

So yeah, the catch is the Xperia C4 on sale on Amazon doesn't support 4G LTE in the US -- and Sony may never offer a version that does. The Xperia C4 does, however, support good ole fashioned 3G. It'll also accept SIM cards from AT&T, T-Mobile and any other GSM carrier.

So for those back across the pond, east, now might be the time to pull the trigger on an Xperia C4.

Described by Sony as the "Selfie Smartphone," the Xperia C4 makes its case to shutterbugs by boasting 5 MP selfie cam and a 13 MP rear camera that uses a mobile version of Sony's Exmor RS image sensors. Tony McNulty, vice president of Value Category Business Management at Sony Mobile Communications, calls the Xperia C4 the company's "evolved PROselfie smartphone."

"Xperia C4 caters to consumers that want a smartphone that not only takes great photos, but also packs a punch," says McNulty. "Benefiting from Sony's camera expertise, the 5MP front-facing camera with wide-angle lens lets you capture perfect selfies, while its quality display and performance features provide an all-round advanced smartphone experience."

Elsewhere inside of the selfie-centric smartphone is a 1.7 GHZ octa-core processor, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage space. The Android 5.0 Lollipop smartphone wears a big 5.5-inch display that has a resolution of 1920 by 1080.

And because it is a Sony phone, the Xperia C4 gets a thick coat of Sony music software that includes apps for sound equalization and bass boost and other audio enhancements.

"Great video deserves great audio to match, so Xperia C4 features Sony's audio expertise to deliver crisp and clear audio quality," says Sony. "With or without headphones, you can sit back and enjoy your favorite entertainment in all its glory."The Xperia C4 began its worldwide roll out last month, but Sony has ruled out shipping the handset to North America and the UK.
