One of the most important messages that "Kung Fu Panda" was hailed for was Po's love for Mr. Ping, his adoptive father. Mr. Ping raised Po to take over his noodle shop business, but still supported him in his dream to become a great hero and martial artist. But like many adoptive children, Po still sometimes thought of his biological family and what might have happened that made them give him up.
We were teased with a glimpse into a Panda village during the last few seconds of "Kung Fu Panda 2," where one of the Pandas said, "My son is alive!" And now, in the new trailer for the third installment of the Kung Fu Panda series, Po gets to meet his biological Panda father.
Po is once again teamed up with the Furious Five. The heroic team has gone through many battles together, and, as the voiceover reiterates, "A Kung Fu master is prepared to train hard, move fast, be brave and, above all, be ready for anything."
Indeed, Po must be ready for anything - especially when he learns he is not actually the last of his kind. He meets another Panda who is searching for his long-lost son. It takes a few moments before the two realize they are related.
From here, Po learns that there is an entire secret village full of hilarious, clumsy Pandas, just like him. But their existence is being threatened by a new super villain - Kai.
Kai is spreading his terror all over China, battling all Kung Fu masters. To save the hidden Panda village, Po must teach them all the ways of Kung Fu so they can defend themselves against the evil that is approaching them.
Jack Black is back to voice Po, and all the stars from the first two films also return to voice their heroic martial artist characters - Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen, Jackie Chan, David Cross and Lucy Liu as the Furious Five, and Dustin Hoffman as their mentor, Master Shifu.
Joining the cast are Bryan Cranston as Po's biological father, Li, and Rebel Wilson as another Panda named Mei Mei.
Get ready to meet all the Kung Fu Pandas when The Furious Five, Po, and his whole family (adoptive and biological) return to theatres on Jan. 19, 2016.
