Jurassic World is not only tearing up the box office, but it's also taken an impressive bite out of the music charts.
Even though it's been 22 years since John Williams' "Jurassic Park Theme" was released, the song has – for the first time – climbed its way up to earn the No. 1 spot on a Billboard chart.
The theme song from the 1993 movie – also featured in Jurassic World – went from No. 6 last week to No. 1 on the Classical Digital Songs chart. Interestingly enough, The Piano Guys' take on the classic theme song took the No. 2 spot.
According to Nielsen Music, the "Jurassic Park Theme" jumped to the top of the charts with a 205 percent gain to 3,000 copies sold in the week ending on June 14. That makes a total of 189,000 downloads of the instrumental song to date.
The Piano Guys' cover has sold 2,000 digital copies.
On the Billboard 200, the Jurassic World album (composed by Michael Giacchino) is at No. 126, but it has its teeth clenched onto the Soundtracks chart, chomping in at No. 6.
In comparison, the original soundtrack for Jurassic Park only reached No. 28 on the Billboard 200 chart when it was released, although it has sold 863,000 copies to date.
Jurassic World roared through the box office in its opening weekend, making $204.6 million domestically and an estimated $500 million worldwide.
There is no denying the film was action-packed, and now zookeepers have begun to re-enact the raptor squad scene in hilarious social media memes.
So go on and train your pets at home while blasting the iconic theme song. Of course, you could always make things extra weird by listening to Soundcloud user birdfeeder's slowed-down version to get you in a dino state of mind.
