LG G4 Pro To Sport Snapdragon 820 Chip, 4GB RAM, 5.8-Inch Display, 27MP Camera: Rumor

A purported LG G4 Pro is apparently in the horizon and more information has now come to light, revealing top-notch specs.

LG has already released one flagship smartphone this year, launching the high-end LG G4, but it seems that another flagship is in the pipeline with even more impressive specifications.

While the LG G4, pictured above, has powerful specs and features on board, it still doesn't sport a metal body and some were disappointed by its choice of processor.

Amid increasing uproar regarding the overheating issues affecting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor, some smartphone makers decided to go down a different path. Samsung launched its latest flagships with in-house Exynos processors reportedly to avoid the Snapdragon 810's overheating issues, while LG launched its G4 flagship with a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor.

A new LG flagship, however, could step things up in the processor department without dealing with the Snapdragon 810's overheating issues.

Some intriguing information has now surfaced regarding the purported LG G4 Pro, which is shaping up as a real powerhouse. The smartphone will reportedly boast the full-metal body many expected for the LG G4, and it will also sport upgrades in the processor department and other areas.

According to a new report (translated), the upcoming LG G4 Pro phablet will rock a massive 5.8-inch display with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, have a sleek metal construction, and pack the next-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Qualcomm has yet to release its Snapdragon 820 chipset, but is expected to overcome any potential overheating issues by the time it does.

The LG G4 Pro powerhouse is further rumored to feature 4GB of RAM under the hood, which should deliver a fast and fluid performance combined with the Snapdragon 820 processor.

Other specifications reportedly include 32GB or 64GB of internal storage capacity, a whopping 27-megapixel rear camera, and a high-end 8-megapixel selfie cam on the front.

If all of these rumored specs turn out to be accurate and the LG G4 Pro will indeed launch with a metal body, Qualcomm's top-of-the-line Snapdragon 820, and powerful specs all around, it could be the phone to rule them all in 2015.

The LG G4 Pro should make its debut by the end of October, but no official confirmation is available at this point. As always in such cases, it's best to take all leaks and reports with a healthy dose of skepticism until a formal announcement is made.
