Remember when Bungie fired Marty O'Donnell? The fan-favorite composer wrote the unforgettable theme to Halo, as well as scoring the game, several of its sequels, and much of Destiny as well. And then, without explanation, O'Donnell was dismissed from Bungie just five months before Destiny was released.
He wasn't very happy about it.
O'Donnell sued Bungie CEO Harold Ryan and was awarded $95,000. Today, we know what he did with at least some of that money.
Highwire Games is a brand new game studio founded by O'Donnell, Jaime Griesemer and Jared Noftle. Griesemer, a game designer, is also a former Bungie employee. Noftle was co-founder of Airtight Games, the now-shuttered studio behind Murdered: Soul Suspect, Quantum Conundrum and others.
After a crafty fan on NeoGAF did some detective work to discover O'Donnell's new venture, the composer himself confirmed the news on Twitter.
Nothing more is known about Highwire, except for a line from the new entity's LinkedIn page that describes it as a "games, consoles and virtual reality" company. You can check out Highwire's website and follow the company on Twitter.
