Pushbullet Outs Portal App To Help You Easily Transfer Files From PC To Your Android Device

In the past, transferring files had users sending an email to their own inbox with the needed files attached to the message. Somehow, the task of transferring a file became a little easier with the launch of cloud computing. Now, users can transfer and even organize their files with the new Portal app from Pushbullet.

The Portal app has been optimized for transferring files in the drag-and-drop manner with an option to save the files to the smartphone's SD card. File size should not be an issue as the user can easily drag and drop files bigger than 1GB.

"Portal makes transferring files from your computer to your phone as simple as possible," wrote CEO Ryan Oldenburg on Pushbullet's blog page.

The file transfer process works by using a Wi-Fi network, which makes transferring files incredibly quick and easy. It's also money saving since it doesn't use up one's data plan.

To start transferring files, open up the Portal app. Next, go to the Portal website and scan a QR code using an Android device. Start dragging and dropping files into the browser. These files are then automatically moved to the device.

"Instead of having to go and dig through your device's storage, just open the Portal app," continued Oldenburg. "You'll see all the files and folders you've transferred and you can browse, open, or share your files with just a tap."

In other words, users don't have to worry about finding their transferred files in their devices. All they have to do is to open the Portal app and start viewing their files. It's as simple as transferring a file from one folder to another, only this time, the transfer file folder is in the user's device.

For users whose devices run Android 5.0 Lollipop or even newer OS, they can also move their transfer file folder to their device's removable SD card. Those who use Chrome on their PC can even drop their entire folders since these are transferred easily by Portal. This feature works well for those who need to transfer a large volume of files but are not keen on transferring files one by one.
