Nintendo gave a first look at the new games The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes and Hyrule Warriors Legends during its digital event at E3 Tuesday.
The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes is a new co-op multiplayer adventure game that has players solve puzzles and defeat enemies as they make their way through the kingdom.
Multiplayer games in the past tended to be more on the competitive side, like a party game. However, the creative team wanted to focus more on cooperative gameplay with this new Zelda game.
In order to achieve that, there's a new Totem Mechanic that allows players to carry friends on their shoulders to reach higher places. In the single player mode, there's also two supporting doll-like characters, and players can switch between them and Link during the level.
There's a major fashion element to The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes as well. Players can collect items to create outfits, each with their own unique abilities, such as Spin Attack Attire, Lucky Loungewear and a Big Bomb Outfit. Each outfit also lets players experience a stage differently.
Nintendo also revealed a first look at another Zelda game, Hyrule Warriors Legends, which was released last year for the Wii U and is now being reimagined for the 3DS. It will include all of the DLC characters from the Wii U version of the game.
