"Never settle," that's the tagline for the brand-new OnePlus One smartphone and now that this magnificent device has finally launched, its doubtful that anyone will ever settle for low-end specifications again. After all, it doesn't get much better than the OnePlus One.
The One Plus One has all the high-end specs you'd expect from a $600-$700 smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy S5 or the iPhone 5S, but its price tag is significantly lower. The OnePlus One comes in a variety of storage options, ranging from 16GB to 64GB. The 16GB version will cost you just $229, while the 64GB version costs just $349.
Once you hear the rest of the OnePlus One's specs, you'll know that paying $229-$349 for this device is an absolute bargain.
The OnePlus One is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 2.5GHz quad-core processor, which is currently one of the best on the market. It is also, coincidentally, the exact same processor you'll find on the Samsung Galaxy S5. The OnePlus One also features 3GB of RAM, a 5.5-inch 1080p display with a pixel density of 401ppi, a 13-megapixel back camera that can record 4K video and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
As if those wowza specs weren't enough to get you excited about this device, OnePlus has also added a massive 3100mAh battery, so that the One doesn't die out on you so fast. The One also comes with dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, as well as GSM, WCDMA and LTE band support.
Perhaps one of the most interesting things about this device is that it runs CyanogenMod 11S OS, which is based on Android 4.4 KitKat, but features really nice customization. CyanogenMod already has a large following, but now that the OS is coming preinstalled on devices such as the Oppo N1 and the OnePlus One, its user base will only continue to grow.
The OnePlus One will be available in many countries right off the bat, including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, United Kingdom and most importantly (for Americans, that is) the United States. The first OnePlus One handsets will go on sale April 25 in all of the above countries.
