Motorola Follows Google And Amazon: Nexus 6 Now Sells For $499.99 Through June 23

Earlier this month, it has been reported over Tech Times that Google and Amazon have cut the price of the 5.96-inch Nexus 6 by as much as $150. Google was the first to offer the price cut and was then followed by popular retailers such as Amazon and Best Buy. This time, perhaps after a lot of prodding from eager customers, Motorola has decided to follow suit and joins the Nexus 6 price cut rage.

According to the company's site, customers can get a no-contract Nexus 6 which starts at only $27.78 per month for a total duration of 18 months and goes with a Motorola Credit Account.

Previously at launch, the Nexus 6 retails at $649.99 for the 32GB and $699.99 for the 64GB. Both prices are now reduced by $150, allowing customers to get their hands on the device for only $499.99 (32GB) and $549.99 (64GB).

Both Google and Amazon had offered the handset in Midnight Blue and Cloud White color options while Best Buy offers only the Midnight Blue version. As for Motorola, the company is offering both of the available color options.

The Nexus 6 was launched in the U.S. in October 2014 and started to deliver one month later. It is offered by top carriers that include Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint. Among the carriers, T-Mobile had initially offered the handset at the discounted price of $549.99 (32GB) and $599.99 (64GB).

The Nexus 6 is also available through U.S. Cellular.

Compared to Google which hinted that the discount is available for a limited time, Motorola on its part has indicated a deadline. Customers should be able to take advantage of the deal which is slated to run through Saturday, June 23 at 10:59 a.m. CT.

At first glance, Motorola's offer may not seem that different compared to other retailers which offer the same deal. However, one should take note that the company offers its own line of credit which is perfect for those who are looking to pay off the handset through monthly charges. Moreover, Motorola offers the so-called $130 extended warranty which includes accidental damages coverage for up to two years and a maximum of 3 claims at $40 each.

For those who have been thinking about getting the Nexus 6 phablet, this is the best time to make a decision. Unless of course one can predict that a better offer is yet to come, one should remember that good deals such as these are bound by a timeframe.
