When the Transformers meet the Ninja Turtles.
The mash-up of every kid—and adult's—dream is going to be a reality, as next year's Ninja Turtles 2 movie is set to feature a cameo by Bumblebee of Transformers' fame. A shot scene actually shows Bumblebee roll up to Michaelangelo as a car, before morphing into the yellow robot we know and love. Pretty cool.
The collaboration makes perfect sense, considering both franchises are under Paramout Pictures with Michael Bay at helm of each. It's also noteworthy that Bumblebee is the choice. Just late last month, Hasbro announced that it's looking to make a Bumblebee/Transformers spinoff movie. (If the X-Men can do it with Wolverine...why not Transformers with Bumblebee?)
This will surely stir up a debate as to whether Bumblebee is an iconic enough Transformers character to warrant a cameo in a Ninja Turtles movie—let alone a spinoff of his own flick—but through time, one would be hard-pressed to name Transformers who had that much more popularity than the yellow-and-black car/robot.
As cool as it's going to be see Bumblebee's scene (via ComicBook.com) fully play out in Ninja Turtles 2, coming next June, seeing Optimus Prime in a scene with Shredder and the Ninja Turtles would take the cake. While this is just a taste, do you think it can possibly pave the way for a full-on Turtles-Transformers collission course on the big screen someday?
Never say never. Transformers...heroes in a half shell.
