A Florida resident has publicized her search for her missing hairless cat, named Rudy, through social media. Tamsin Dayment claims the four-month-old kitten escaped his carrier after it tipped over and broke open, and at least one witness saw the rare breed of cat running away from Delta Airlines at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta.
Rudy the hairless cat was being transported from his breeder in Canada and was traveling on flight DL834 from Seattle when he landed in Atlanta. When Rudy arrived at Delta Airlines, the kitten was scanned at around 7 a.m. on June 4, where he was supposed to be placed on a connecting flight to Tampa, Florida, according to Dayment. Unfortunately, the cat had not left Atlanta as planned, and Dayment added Rudy had been missing more than four hours before Delta Airlines notified her.
Delta Airlines representatives believe the cat fled near the cargo loading area in terminal D24 at the Atlanta airport. The kitten was last seen wearing a reddish and pink jumper before he went missing.
After Rudy was lost for 24 hours, Dayment and family created "Help us find Rudy" on Facebook, noting that as time passes without food and water, the more dangerous the situation is for the hairless kitten. The family hopes that involving more people at the Atlanta Airport or near the Atlanta area would make the search for the cat faster. They are updating the Facebook page about the progress, and a cash reward amounting to $2,000 has been offered to any individual who can get Rudy back safely in the family's care.
Early on June 6, the Dayment family posted that a search dog, which was highly recommended by one of the members of their search, would be assisting in finding Rudy at the airport. Later that afternoon, the Facebook page was updated that there was still no news about the missing cat following the dog search.
As the more aggressive search for Rudy continues, the Dayment family wrote on June 7 that they had employed the services of international pet finder and private investigator Jamie Katz and her search dogs. The family has also set up a GoFundMe page for Rudy in an effort to raise money for the advertisements, including posters and flyers, as well as the private investigator, the $2,000 reward, transportation and possibly, legal fees.
As of the moment, Dayment and some family members are with Jamie Katz in Georgia to join the search team for Rudy. Hopefully, the hairless kitten will be found soon.
