Talks about having everyone at the well-loved "Gilmore Girls" to be back together on screen had sparked lately after the news was revealed by Scott Patterson (Luke). Then on Saturday, the cast was reunited at ATX Television Festival, further adding to the speculation that an alleged reunion project is indeed in the works.
Apart from Amy Sherman-Palladino (creator) and Daniel Palladino (exec producer), the event's attendees included cast members such as Milo Ventimiglia, Danny Strong, John Cabrera, Todd Lowe, Jackson Douglas, Liz Torres, Yanic Truesdale, Matt Czuchry, Jared Padalecki, Liza Weil, Keiko Agena, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Alexis Bledel, and Lauren Graham.
While it is true that Patterson commented on a potential revival, Sherman-Palladino finally blurted out the show's real score.
"There's nothing in the works at the moment," said Sherman-Palladino. "If it ever happened, I promise we'd do it correctly. Nobody here hates each other, which is very important. It would have to be the right everything, the right format, the right timing, it would have to be honored in a certain way. And if it ever came around, we would all jump in and do it."
Sherman-Palladino took the stage first at the event with her so-called "trinity" made up of Kelly Bishop (Emily), Lauren Graham (Lorelai) and Alexis Bledel (Rory). As expected, the crowd became overexcited and went cheering.
They mostly talked about the audition process. They also discussed how the series started and how much they are missing Edward Herrmann (Richard). In the wake of the actor's recent passing, Bledel says that she will always remember him as the "head of our Gilmore family."
"Ed Herrmann was a wonderful actor and a kind man," said Bledel. "He was endlessly knowledgeable about theater, TV and film, and would generously share his wisdom or tell stories from a long and rewarding career. I am grateful to him for that, and will miss him tremendously. He loved acting and was the head of our Gilmore family with his strong presence and great sense of humor. May he rest in peace."
The actor passed away on New Year's Eve after a battle with brain cancer. He was 71 years old.
Later on at the event, the discussion focused on picking the right man for Rory.
"I was Team Dean," said Ventimiglia. Padalecki followed it up by saying. "I was Team Jess - he was sexy and cool...If Milo wasn't here today, I'd totally be Team Logan."
The event lasted for two hours and ended with a standing ovation.
