Logitech Unveils MX Anywhere 2 Mouse That Tracks Virtually Anywhere

Logitech just unveiled a more compact version of its MX Master wireless mouse, introducing the sleek MX Anywhere 2.

The MX Master wireless mouse made its debut back in March, launching as the most advanced wireless gadget of its kind in Logitech's portfolio. While it's a powerful and reliable mouse for the desktop, however, some users found the MX Master a bit large for mobile applications.

With the new MX Anywhere 2, Logitech took the best features of the advanced MX Master and crammed them into a more portable mouse that's significantly more mobile-friendly. Moreover, the MX Anywhere 2 is also more affordable, coming in at $80, i.e., $20 less than the MX Master.

The mobile MX Anywhere 2 has the same Darkfield Laser Sensor as the MX Master, able to work on any surface, tracking virtually anywhere.

"Darkfield laser tracking gives you flawless control on virtually any surface, including glass and high-gloss surfaces," Logitech touts on the MX Anywhere 2 product page.

Users can pair it with a Windows or a Mac PC either via the unifying dongle that comes with the mouse, or via Bluetooth. It's also worth pointing out that a "connect" button at the bottom of the mouse allows users to pair the device with up to three systems simultaneously via Bluetooth, thanks to Easy-Switch technology.

In terms of battery performance, the MX Anywhere 2 wireless mouse can last for up to two months on a single charge, according to the company. A rapid charge of one minute will give the device one hour of usage.

Design-wise, the new Logitech Anywhere 2 looks comfortable to hold and easy to use with mobile applications. It resembles the MX Master at the thumb grip with its polygon-like shape, but it's smoother on the sides, in addition to being more compact.

The MX Anywhere 2 product page on Logitech's website already has an "Add to Cart" option, and the product appears as "in stock." The company is also throwing in free standard shipping, noting that it should take four to seven business days. Express shipping, meanwhile, will take two - three days, but it will cost extra.
