Finding life as a Kickstarter project back in August 2013, the Mega Man spiritual successor known as Mighty No. 9 is nearly upon us.
The game, which raised nearly $4 million on Kickstarter, will finally arrive on Sept. 15 on nearly every platform. Better yet, the game will even be seeing a physical release alongside the digital version of the game.
Those who opt to buy the physical version of the game will be treated to the Ray DLC pack and an additional stage. The box copy will also come with a double-sided poster and an art booklet. Those who preorder the game will receive the "Retro Hero Mode" for the game, which unlocks an alternate, blocky look for main character Beck and adds a "one-hit kill" mode to the game.
That, however, is just the standard physical retail version, which retails for $29.99. The game will also be coming in a signature edition which includes the game, a foil signature by Mega Man and Mighty No. 9 creator Keji Inafune and a Beck statue, complete with interchangeable faces. The signature edition of Mighty No. 9 will retail for $59.99.
Or you could simply buy the digital version for $19.99 on your platform of choice.
Whew. And if that wasn't enough news already, the game also received its first official gameplay trailer. Check it out below.
It definitely looks like Mega Man, as Beck blasts his way through 2D environments, battles bosses and then uses their powers for his own.
Mighty No 9. will be available on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Wii U, PC, Linux and Mac on Sept. 15. A 3DS and PS Vita version of the game will follow at a later date.
