For those of us who are, without a doubt, Harry Potter fans and have been missing the franchise, Universal Studios Hollywood has just announced that it is about to make our wizard dreams come true.
The upcoming 2016 opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was the big announcement last Tuesday and both muggles and wizards alike are in a state of excitement for this new adventure.
Though it has been five years in the making, Universal Studios Hollywood is tirelessly working on the Hollywood attraction similar to the "Wizarding World" found in Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Japan.
"The momentum behind J.K. Rowling's wizarding world is as strong as ever and we are incredibly excited to bring Hogwarts to Hollywood," said Brad Globe, president of Warner Bros. consumer products.
Muggles visiting the magical world will first enter a fully immersive theme park that includes memorable locations and visual scenery of the beloved fictional world from the films. Hogwarts Castle was chosen to be the park's focal point.
Visitors will get to experience the park's signature ride aptly named Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey wherein one can know what it's like to watch a Quidditch match, have a close encounter with a dragon, and barely escape an agitated Whomping Willow - all with hyper-realistic 3D-HD glasses.
The Flight of the Hippogriff ride will also be introduced. A whole new amusement ride experience which will be the first outdoor coaster at Universal Studios Hollywood.
After a day of walking around the magical land, visitors can fill their hunger and thirst with food and beverages from stores like the Three Broomsticks, Hog's Head Pub, The Magic Neep greengrocers and there's even a Butterbeer cart.
Other memorable shops and stores from the fictional world that is worth a visit will be: Ollivander's Wand Shop, Owl Post, Wiseacre's Wizarding Equipment, Honeydukes, Zonko's Joke Shop, Filch's Emporium of Confiscated Goods, Dervish and Banges, and Gladrags Wizardwear - all of which are exciting to visit next year!
