Find 'Charlie Charlie Challenge' Weird? Here Are 5 Real, Creepy Rituals From Around The Globe

While children are trying to summon a supposed Mexican demon in this strange ritual gone viral, there are plenty of other creepy monsters just waiting to be called into this world: Bloody Mary, Slenderman, and even Candlejack.

Here are some creepy and bizzare Internet myths that can have you summoning a demon spirit of your own.

Try at your own risk.

1. Candlejack

Candlejack was a villain from the cartoon show Freakazoid. If you say his name, he will kidnap you—most often mid-sentence. This, of course, is simply an urb---

2. Bloody Mary

One of the most well-known "sleepover" games that has its roots in American folklore, this frightening game has sent many a pre-teen girl screaming into the night. The ritual entails your waiting until midnight before going into a bathroom and saying the name "Bloody Mary" into the mirror a certain number of times with nothing but a candle to illuminate your own face. Mary will then appear to you in your reflection.

Why anyone would want to try this is beyond me.

3. Slenderman

This is an urban myth born from the Internet. Slenderman is a tall, willowy figure, usually dressed in a black suit. His face does not show any features no matter how hard you try to look at him. Stories of him have inspired memes, horror games, and tragically, real-life murders supposedly done to appease him.

4. Elevator to Another World

This "dangerous game" supposedly originated from Korea.

Strange things happen following a certain sequence of elevator button pushes, which must be done alone and in the dead of night. Why must they always be done alone and in the dead of night? You will find yourself transported into another world inhabited by you and only you. You must also follow an exact sequence of button pushes without looking at anyone or speaking to anyone in order to return safely.

Care to try?

5. Black and Blue

This game requires a participant and a guide. The participant lays their head in the guide's lap and as the guide puts their hands over the participant's head (or their eyes), they tell them a story either of going through a journey, getting beaten up, or even getting scratched by a cat. At the end of the game, when the participant gets up and opens their eyes, they'll find bruises and scratches on their body in the exact same places where they happened in the guide's story. According to reddittors who played this game, it really works!
