Sharon Osbourne, one of the mainstay hosts of The Talk for numerous years, suffered an unfortunate setback, and decided to take a month-long vacation from her CBS daytime show.
The 62-year-old British celebrity collapsed from physical and mental fatigue, after she returned home, according to her rep. Last evening of May 22, after a tiring trip to Toronto and New York, she fell sick at her residence in Los Angeles.
"Sharon has been advised and has agreed to take a month hiatus to recover fully from these recent events. Sharon would like to thank everyone at The Talk for granting her this time off and to all friends, family and others for their incredible support," her rep stated.
Osbourne's medical advisors believe she has experienced "extreme exhaustion" and her coming back to her show too soon after recovering from pneumonia earlier this year did not help her cause. The music manager-turned-talk show host had experienced various medical conditions in previous years.
Last March, her daughter Kelly substituted Mrs. Osbourne last March as she suffered pneumonia after surviving hernia surgery. Kelly would still be her mother's replacement in the show for a couple of days as Sharon recovers.
Heavy metal rocker Ozzy Osbourne's wife was also a colorectal cancer survivor in 2002 as she underwent three months of chemotherapy and doctors had removed a one-foot section of her colon. She also had double mastectomy in 2012 after a test showed she carried a gene that would later develop to breast cancer.
Sharon has always been in the spotlight. She is a media personality, television host and talent, competition judge, music manager, author, businessperson, and promoter.
The gifted co-host first became well known after her appearance on The Osbournes, a reality television show that monitored the daily life of her family. Sharon later became a talent judge on the American and British versions of The X Factor, from 2004 to 2007and 2013. She was also a judge in America's Got Talent between 2007 and 2012. Then she has been a regular on The Talk with Aisha Tyler, Sheryl Underwood, Sara Gilbert and Julie Chen.
The Osbourne family was in the limelight last April when there was news about a possible return of the reality television show that made the whole family legendary. With Sharon's exhaustion, that may not transpire until she could get sufficient rest to the approval of her medical doctors.
