In October 2014, T-Mobile announced that Wi-Fi Calling will be enabled for Nexus 6 but did not reveal an exact date. Now Desmond Smith, Senior Product Manager at T-Mobile, has hinted that Wi-Fi calling feature may be enabled during the Memorial Day weekend.
T-Mobile has enabled Wi-Fi Calling for many smartphones running on Android, iOS and Windows devices. The Nexus 6 was also expected to get the said update in mid-May; however, on May 12, Smith tweeted that due to a bug the update was delayed for Nexus 6.
It has been nearly 10 days since the delay and now Smith has tweeted again hinting at some happy news for Nexus 6. Smith's tweet does not specify a software update that will bring Wi-Fi Calling for Nexus 6 over the Memorial Day weekend. However, what else could be better news for Nexus 6 users than enabling Wi-Fi Calling.
The feature is quite handy if a person stays or works in a place that has easy Wi-Fi connectivity.
"Wi-Fi Calling allows you to make and receive calls; access unlimited high-speed data; and send and receive messages over a wireless internet connection," per T-Mobile. "Using Wi-Fi Calling is easy! Simply connect to an available Wi-Fi network of your choice, confirm Wi-Fi Calling is enabled on your phone, and continue to use all of your favorite device features!"
Nexus phones have attracted many customers and the Nexus 6 is no less. Its stunning 6-inch display makes it a good choice for customers who want to watch videos on the go. The large 3,220mAh battery keeps the phone going on for longer and the Turbo Charging feature enables users to charge the handset quicker.
T-Mobile is offering a discount of $100 on the 32GB as well as 64GB versions of the Nexus 6. For the 32GB version, the carrier is currently offering the handset for $549.84 or 24 monthly instalments of $22.91. The 64GB version of the T-Mobile Nexus 6 is available for $599.76 instead of $699.84, or 24 monthly instalments of $24.99.
