In 'Mortal Kombat X,' Not Even Death Can Stop Jason Voorhees Thanks To This Glitch

Fans had their wish granted when it was announced that horror icon Jason Voorhees would be making his way to Mortal Kombat X as a DLC character. What fans didn't expect was for Jason to be this darn creepy.

It's a fact some fans have learned the hard way. It revolves around the game's brutality system, and while this is technically a glitch, it's so perfect that it might as well just be part of the game.

Brutalities in Mortal Kombat X are gory finishing moves that players can pull off my performing certain feats during a match, like killing an opponent with a particular move or with a certain amount of health remaining. Unlike the cinematic fatalities, brutalities are simply bloodier flourishes on existing moves.

Perform one on Jason under certain conditions with certain characters, however, and you might be terrified to watch the machete wielding psycho stand back up as if nothing bad happened. As spotted by the fighting game community over on Shoryuken (via Kotaku), this is because of Jason's "Unstoppable" variation, which has an ability that revives the character after death. Only in this case, the character is being revived with a bolt of lightning after having his legs/head ripped off.

You can watch some videos of the glitch in action below. One involves performing a Kenshi brutality, while another stars Raiden.

These are the kind of video game glitches that are fun to have around. Too often bugs in games cause save progress to be lost or create frustration when an aspect of the game isn't working like it is supposed to. Those need to be dealt with quickly and efficiently. A funny little glitch like this? This can stay.
