In case you've been hiding under a rock and are now the one and only person left on earth who doesn't know...the actor that played awkward, timid Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter movies has grown up. And he ain't awkward no more.
Fact is, Matthew Lewis is what some would consider a "full-blown hottie." The 25-year-old actor became a sudden heartthrob over the last few years, and it's taken pretty much the entire world by surprise, since it's such a drastic opposite from his best-known role.
Attitude Magazine out of the U.K. has done a 10-page cover story on Lewis, in which he talks about his physical transformation and his high-profile role in the upcoming big-screen drama Me Before You. The magazine also happens to include a number of photos of Lewis in, shall we say... various states of undress. (We're told he's never fully naked, but shows plenty of hairy flesh.)
Imagine the surprise of Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling — who got to know many of the actors in the Potter films over the decade-plus of production it took to create them — when she hopped on Twitter today and saw a tweet from her friend Matthew Lewis that linked to two images of him from Attitude, flashing his six-pack and lounging in tighty-whiteys. Naturally, being a writer, she did what writers do: She Tweeted her hilarious reaction.
.@Mattdavelewis Not as bad as watching Dan in Equus, but close. Warn me next time, for God's sake. https://t.co/r8EUd1GKqT

Since she tagged Lewis in it, he was quick to respond, and feeling a little embarrassed. We imagine it's what it would be like if your mother tweeted about your semi-dressed photos to the entire world. (Rowling has over four-and-a-half million followers on Twitter.)
Well, this is awkward. Sorry, Jo… https://t.co/ASSy3vo4d3 — Matthew Lewis (@Mattdavelewis) May 21, 2015
Rowling's reply was even better than her first tweet on the matter.
.@Mattdavelewis I will always support you whatever you want to do, Matthew. Now go put some clothes on.

Lewis wisely let the bestselling novelist have the last word, but another actor they're both friends with was watching the exchange and decided to put in his two cents. That would be Jason Isaacs, better known to Potter fans as the wicked Lucius Malfoy.
Surely Neville Pertbottom now? @Mattdavelewis @jk_rowling https://t.co/P5ZMOTXwlH — Jason Isaacs (@jasonsfolly) May 21, 2015
To which Rowling replied:
.@jasonsfolly @Mattdavelewis I wouldn't know. I hastily averted my eyes and read an article on Political Correctness to get over the shock.

Well played, Ms. Rowling. Once again you've proven how even the 140-character limit of Twitter is no match for your magical pen.
