Mad Max: Fury Road is filled to the brim with strong-willed women who are just as capable (if not more so) than the film's men. Imperator Furiosa, the escaped wives of Immortan Joe, the old-lady biker gang. There is always a lady on screen kicking some serious tail.
You might call the women of Fury Road unbreakable. Where have I heard that word before? Maybe in the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, the Netflix original comedy series? The show's catchy theme song revolves around women being freed from an apocalyptic cult...wait a minute. Why do these two things go so well together?
It's something YouTuber Albert Lopez picked up on, and before you know it, Internet magic was made. Lopez took the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt theme and swapped out all the images of the show's Mole Sister scenes from the fake news report with scenes from director George Miller's Fury Road. The result is video perfection.
Creepy white guy? It doesn't get much creepier than Immortan Joe in Fury Road. Apocalyptic cult? Fury Road is all about it. Said creepy white dude enslaving young girls? Seriously, they are basically talking about the same thing at this point. Especially the part about the women being strong as hell.
You can't go even a minute in Fury Road without Charlize Theron as Imperator Furiosa performing some epic action stunt. And the escaped wives are far from damsels in distress. They've been through hell and back, yet still continue to fight on. Watch the full video below to see how perfectly the two mesh together.
And now you'll have the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt theme song stuck in your head for another week. Only this time, you will be thinking about it alongside thoughts of fiery explosions.
