Sprint reveals LG G3 official specs - 5.5-inch UHD 2560 x 1440 display, quad-core processor, and more

A UA Profile discovered on Sprint's servers lists the LG G3's official specs. The smartphone will be the first to ship with a 5.5-inch UHD display with a resolution of 2650 x 1440 and more.

LG and Samsung have been trying to trump each other in the smartphone world for quite some time. After LG confirmed that it would introduce the world's first flexible smartphone display, Samsung wasn't going to allow that and rushed to beat LG by introducing the Galaxy Round late last year, a few days before LG announced its LG G Flex.

Prior to the release of the Samsung Galaxy S5, multiple reports claimed the flagship smartphone would ship with an Ultra HD display with a resolution of 2650 x 1440. Those rumors never panned out and Samsung shipped the Galaxy S5 with a 1920 x 1080 Full HD display. It now appears that LG will beat Samsung to market when it releases the LG G3, which will include a jaw-dropping 2650 x 1440 display.

Sprint posted the unannounced LG G3's UA Profile on its site and revealed the smartphone's official specs. According to the profile, the LG G3 will boast a 5.5-inch UHD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and its pixel density will be 530 pixels per inch (ppi). The smartphone will be powered by a 2.3-GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 3GB of RAM. It will have 32GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot that will support up to 64-GB microSD cards.

The LG G3's camera capabilities will include a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat and selfies. The smartphone will run Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box, along with an updated version of LG's UI it runs on top of Android. The device's wireless connectivity options will consist of a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. There was no mention of what its battery capacity will be.

LG is expected to officially announce the LG G3 sometime this summer and will launch the smartphone in the fall.
