Great Scott!
Christopher Lloyd's most famous character, Doc Brown from Back to the Future, is in LEGO Dimensions. Not really that surprising, since we already knew there was going to be a purchasable BttF playset.
Lloyd himself provides the character's voice in the game, and stars as Doc Brown in-the-flesh in a brand new trailer that just went online.
Similar to the reveal trailer, which starred Joel McHale, the video begins with a mysterious glowing box arriving at Doc Brown's door. There's plenty of new in-game footage on display, though the real draw of the video is seeing Lloyd back in Back to the Future mode.
It's been 30 years since he first starred as Doc Brown on the big screen, and while obviously older, he steps back into those shoes without missing a beat.
Warner Bros. Interactive, which is publishing LEGO Dimensions, has been revealing new playable characters at a regular clip lately, over on Twitter. Others have been made public via leaks. Among the known characters/Minifigures are:
• Gimli, Legolas & Gollum from The Lord of the Rings • Cyborg & Wonder Woman from DC Comics • Nya, Jay & Zane from Ninjago • Emmet, Benny, Unikitty & Bad Cop from The LEGO Movie • Marty McFly & Doc Brown from Back to the Future • Owen Grady & Vic Hoskins from Jurassic World • Homer Simpson from The Simpsons • Chell from Portal 2 • The 12th Doctor from Doctor Who • Scooby & Shaggy from Scooby Doo • The Wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz |
They join previously announced characters that include Batman, Wyldstyle and Gandalf the Grey. Some fans believe there's a good chance that the Ghosbusters could join in, too.
LEGO Dimensions is coming September 27, 2015.
