Peter Dinklage Performs A 'Game Of Thrones' Musical For Red Nose Day And It Is Everything

Game of Thrones isn't the most musical show. A top hat, cane and jazz hands don't really seem to fit in with all of the disastrous weddings and people getting their skulls crushed in, does it?

However, that didn't stop NBC's first-ever Red Nose Day charity special from featuring a so-called Game of Thrones: The Musical. The only thing that could be better is if there was an exclamation point at the end of that title.

Peter Dinklage performs the tune, which was written by Coldplay, for which a 90-second teaser clip was released online Tuesday. However, you won't find him in his Tyrion Lannister garb here. Dinklage croons as himself with a backing band of musicians and singers.

The song has an uptempo big band vibe, much different from the epic orchestral theme song composed by Ramin Djawadi we're used to seeing every week. However, if you haven't seen the show yet, you might want to hold off on listening to this jam. In the song, Dinklage recounts some of the major deaths of the series, which actually aren't really spoilers at this point. Tyrion is "still going strong" though, and Dinklage seems pretty proud of that fact as he sings that lyric. As he should be.

It looks like several other members of the Game of Thrones cast will also be joining Coldplay's musical adaptation of the show for Red Nose Day. They don't sing Dinklage's song for obvious reasons.

This Game of Thrones: The Musical teaser is just one of several celebrity-tastic clips released in anticipation of Red Nose Day, a three-hour benefit imported from the UK to raise money for children and young people living in poverty. These include Anna Kendrick starring in an Indiana Jones reboot and a remake of Reservoir Dogs with the cast of Orange is the New Black.

Check out Dinklage's full performance below.

Red Nose Day airs live on NBC May 21 at 8 p.m. EST.
