Just because we don't see a lot of beaches in the Star Wars saga doesn't mean you can't take the franchise to the beach with you IRL.
Case and point: ThinkGeek is now selling an inflatable Death Star beach ball to make your pool party one Darth Vader would approve of. You may not be able to hold the whole world in your hands, but you can clutch a moon-sized space station capable of destroying other planets. Now that's power.
This beach ball is more of a cartoonish depiction of the iconic Death Star, so if you saw this thing pointing a superlaser at you, you would probably thing it was adorable rather than terrifying. But isn't that just what you want to have some fun in the sun anyway?
However, at night is where the real magic happens. The beach ball has an impact-activated light-up feature that makes the ball glisten as if it was made up of those billions of tiny stars in space. Luckily, this is powered by non-replaceable button cell batteries, not a hypermatter reactor core like the real Death Star, thank goodness.
You'll have to build this Death Star yourself as the beach ball comes deflated when it ships. After you use an air pump to inflate the Death Star or blow up the ball yourself, it will have a 14-inch diameter.
This Death Star beach ball is available for purchase now for $9.99 from ThinkGeek's online store.
