Before Friday's episode of ESPN's First Take even started, Skip Bayless took to his Twitter account to tease a special announcement.
As he and co-host Stephen A. Smith proceeded to argue about hot-button sports topics such as Deflategate, NBA playoff action and hilariously if a 52-year-old Michael Jordan could defeat LeBron James one-on-one today — Skip said he would — it finally came time for Bayless to unveil the first person that he'd be following on Twitter.
It was none other than Dallas Cowboys' star quarterback Tony Romo.
Right then and there on his laptop, Bayless clicked follow to make it official. Bayless now has 1.6 million followers and Romo is the one person he's following.
Skip especially seemed to be thrilled by the prospect that if Romo follows him back, the two could direct message each other. Good grief! The whole lovefest generated this response from a disgusted Stephen A., who lost a bet with Skip last season and had to wear a Tony Romo jersey for an entire First Take episode.
The hilarious moment spilled over to the Internet with these funny reactions.
Must be a New York Giants fan.
He can say that again ... and Skip doesn't even attempt to hide it. When it comes to his beloved Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs, Bayless's journalism objectivity goes out the window.
