Honest Trailers, that lovable cinematic creation from YouTube channel Screen Junkies that gives much more accurate depictions of popular films, just hit its 100th trailer. Screen Junkies marked this momentous occasion with a bang, pun most definitely intended.
Oh yes. The 100th Honest Trailer turned out to feature none other than Fifty Shades of Grey, the film adaptation of the best-selling S&M romance book trilogy by E.L. James that swept the world and will soon be out on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download on May 8.
As expected, there was a ton of hype surrounding the movie long before its Feb. 13, 2015 release date, just in time for Valentine's Day, naturally. When the first trailer for the film hit the Interwebs last summer, it became the biggest trailer launch online in history, scoring a record 100 million views in its first week of release.
However, not everyone thinks that trailer is a 100 percent accurate depiction of the actual film. If you thought Fifty Shades of Grey was a lot tamer than what you had imagined in your perverted mind, then this Honest Trailer is for you.
This Honest Trailer says everything about Fifty Shades of Grey that you were already thinking but were too scared to say out loud for fear that you might offend that person in your life that has secretly read the entire series. We all have one. The trailer touches on how the movie is a Twilight knock-off and how, instead of being sexy, Christian Grey is really just a cold, rude stalker and a sociopath. Oh, and all of those steamy love scenes we were promised? We mostly just got a lot of shots of Christian and Anastasia texting, sending emails and negotiating contracts. Not cute.
Check out the full Honest Trailer below, and remind yourself just how unsexy this movie really is.
