Evernote Introduces Evernote Plus And Premium Service: Here Are The Details

Basic users of Evernote can now upgrade to the next-highest tier as the company launches its Plus and Premium levels. While Evernote Basic remains a free service, Evernote Plus and Evernote Premium will incur monthly charges from users.

After several months of research, the team behind Evernote learned that users want three things from their Evernote experience. These include a basic level, a lower-priced tier and a premium tier that offers unlimited uploads.

Evernote Basic, just as the name implies, offers basic use of the service. This is a free option that is best for those who are new to the service and are still in the process of familiarizing themselves with the way it works. Users can install Evernote on multiple devices, which can help them learn, explore and eventually grow. While there are a few limitations, they will not in any way slow down the user's work.

Basic users have the option of upgrading to the next-highest tier or continue using the current tier for an extended period of time.

"Stay here as long as you like," said Andrew Sinkov in the company's blog post. "When you're ready, check out our more advanced levels."

The second tier, Evernote Plus, is designed for the more "engaged and active" users. It's loaded with a number of exclusive features including the ability to upload content of up to 1 GB each month, the ability to access notes even when there's no Wi-Fi or data, adding a passcode lock on notes or notebooks and turning important emails into Evernote notes.

Evernote Plus has a monthly charge of $2.99. However, users can also opt for a yearly subscription that comes cheaper at $24.99 a year.

The third tier, Evernote Premium, is also known as the professional workhorse. It offers unlimited uploads and larger individual note sizes that are incorporated with all the critical business features. For those who are working with a bigger group or company organization, each team member can get the Premium service through Evernote Business.

Evernote Premium incurs a monthly charge of $5.99 or $49.99 for every year.

In addition to adding new features that can match every user's needs, the Evernote team has also decided to keep their prices optimized in each country. Depending on the country or region, the price of Premium would either go up, stay the same or decrease.

"We feel strongly that price should be appropriate to your region and it shouldn't be a barrier to getting the best productivity tool in the world," added Sinkov.
