Tim Cook Is Ready To Lunch With You If You're Ready To Cough Up $$$$$

Ever wanted to get lunch with Apple CEO Tim Cook? Well, now you can, but it certainly won't be cheap.

Cook is participating in another charity event in support of the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights, enabling people to bid on a lunch with Tim Cook, with bids starting at $10,000.

"Join me for lunch (and a keynote!) and help a great cause. @RFKHumanRights is working towards a more just world," said Cook in a tweet.

This will be the third time that Cook has offered his time for the charity, making this somewhat of an annual event. The first time it took place, a huge $610,000 was raised for a 60-minute coffee date. This was the highest amount that had ever been raised through charity site Charitybuzz. The second time that the action took place, a very respectable $310,000 was raised.

According to Charitybuzz spokesperson Kerilyn Barlet, the first auction raised so much money because of the fact that it was the first time that access had been granted to Tim Cook. This auction is certainly expected to make a lot of money, and Charitybuzz itself says that at least $100,000 should be brought in through the auction.

While bidding started at $10,000, at the time of writing it had grown to $80,000. It is almost certain that the auction will raise well more than $80,000.

Tim Cook is not the only celebrity taking part in the charity, with the likes of Robert Downey, Jr. Stella McCartney, Tom Brady, Helen Mirren and Larry David all also taking place. The auction will close on May 6.

The winner of the auction will be allowed to take one friend along to meet Cook, and the lunch itself will last 60 minutes, just like previous auctions. Those bidding on the event will have to be prepared to wait, however.

"Every effort will be made to schedule this experience at the earliest possible date convenient to both parties, but please note it may take up to one year to schedule based on availability," says the auction.

The cost of lunch will be included, however, the winner of the auction will have to pay for their own travel expenses to get to Apple's Cupertino headquarters, where the lunch will take place.

Tim Cook has become increasingly active in promoting human rights since he became CEO of Apple, also increasing the amount that Apple itself donates to charity.
