The 8 Best Comic Book Movie Social Media Accounts To Follow

There is nothing like watching your favorite comic book characters come to life on the big screen or seeing them in a binge-worthy TV series (Daredevil anyone?). But thanks to social media, we can now follow everything our favorite characters (or actors who play them), directors and superhero gurus are up to, connecting with them in an unique way.

We love being in the know when Marvel announces that another movie is in the works on Twitter, or getting to see exclusive, behind-the-scenes set photos of upcoming DC Comics films on Instagram.

Take your comic book fandom to the next level by checking out the eight best social media accounts for comic book movies.

1. Robert Downey, Jr.

We can barely wait for The Avengers: Age of Ultron to be released on May 1 — and all the promotional appearances the cast has lined up are making it that much more exciting to see the team together on the big screen.

Iron Man himself – Robert Downey Jr. – just signed up on Instagram, and you must follow his account. His first post was a photo of The Avengers cast members Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson and himself, with Jimmy Kimmel.

2. The Avengers

If you need more Avengers in your life than the occasional cast photo, follow @Avengers on Twitter. The official Twitter account posted the movie posters, live-tweeted the Avengers premiere red carpet, and recently shared this exclusive clip.

3. Zack Snyder

If you're a comic book movie fan, than you need to follow the Twitter account of Zack Synder, director of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He is known for debuting photos of Batman, the Batmobile and Aquaman, so make sure to keep an eye out for his latest movie news.

4. Jared Leto

Watch Oscar-winner Jared Leto transform into The Joker on his Instagram and Facebook pages. If your aren't a Thirty Seconds to Mars fan, just follow his Instagram, as most of his Facebook posts are music-related. If there's any comic journalist you should follow, it's Umberto Gonzalez — aka El Mayimbe, who works for Latino-Review.com. He has all the latest Marvel/DC news on his Twitter feed, and his Instagram is also full of breaking news and interesting movie facts, like how DC comics is designing six looks for the Wonder Woman film, as well as lots of rumor confirmations.

Speaking of Suicide Squad, make sure you're following director David Ayer to stay up to speed with all the movie developments. Ayer has tweeted about the sets and the script — and provided photos of Leto's haircut.
