For most wrestling fans, just getting access to the monthly pay-per-views for cheap is reason enough to purchase the WWE Network - and it's safe to say that the PPVs are why most fans buy in.
However, there's a lot of other content available on the Network, and it's not just reruns of Legends House, either. There are a number of shows and specials focused on the history of the WWE itself, and anyone who's interested in what made the company what it is today should definitely check it out.
In fact, now is one of the best times to do so: WWE is adding two new shows to the Network this month, with both focusing on the history of the company.
So, if you're a modern fan that just doesn't understand why the Attitude Era is so highly regarded, you can finally find out why. Of course, it just wouldn't be the WWE Network without the aforementioned PPVs, and April is no different...
Jerry Springer Presents: WWE Too Hot for TV
Release Date: April 27
Alright, so it's probably not going to be a serious look back at some of the most controversial moments in WWE history, but Jerry Springer Presents: WWE Too Hot for TV should definitely be a throwback to the days of tabloid talk shows. That being said - what exactly does 'too hot for TV' mean when a show consists mostly of grown men throwing each other through tables?
Raw: Attitude Era
Release Date: April 10
This is something that fans have been waiting for: Raw has long been one of the WWE's best shows, and yet, there was no way to watch many of the older episodes (unless you still had those bootleg VHS tapes from the '90s). Now, the entire first year of Raw during the Attitude Era is streaming on the WWE Network. The Network has a few select Raws available already, but now they're showcasing the best. Anyone who's never seen the Golden Age of professional wrestling needs to watch it.
WWE Extreme Rules
Release Date: April 26
It's the first PPV after WrestleMania - and considering how good WrestleMania 31 was, Extreme Rules has got a lot to live up to. True, it's mostly rematches from last month's show, but that doesn't mean Extreme Rules won't be worth watching. After all, who wouldn't want to see another mid-air RKO?
For the history buffs of the WWE Universe, April should be a blessing. Having a library of every episode of Raw from the first year of the Attitude Era has never been a possibility before, and it's something fans have been dreaming of for years. For the more modern fans, WWE Extreme Rules should be more than enough to get excited about (even if there's no Sting or Undertaker).
If you want to pick up the Network, just head on over to WWE's official site. For new subscribers, the entire month of April is free!
