Blue Man Group Celebrates The Return Of 'Game Of Thrones' With An Epic Theme Song Cover

You've heard a thousand variations of the Game of Thrones theme song at this point. From parodies to tributes to pop-culture mash-ups like this one, the song that plays in front of every episode of Game of Thrones is officially an iconic piece of musical pop culture.

Maybe you are thinking you could do without hearing yet another Game of Thrones tribute. But have you heard the show's theme song performed by the Blue Man Group? I didn't think so.

The talented (and silent) musicians are apparently fans of the show, as they've created a stunning rendition of Ramin Djawadi's Game of Thrones theme using jars, pipes and other unconventional instruments.

The group is also a big fan of Hodor. Towards the end of the video Hodor's name begins to flash across the drumsets of the musicians as the song reaches a crescendo.

In the accompanying text for the video, The Blue Man Group says they will maintain their vow of silence until Hodor is confirmed for season five of the show.

Maybe the group hasn't heard that Hodor and Bran won't be seen in this season of the show? After reaching the Three-Eyed Raven North of the Wall at the end of season four, showrunners decided to give Bran and company a break so they could focus on the numerous new characters being introduced in season five. Rest assured, Hodor will likely return for the show's sixth season.

Sorry, blue people of the world. You will have to maintain your silence for just a little longer. At least you have some sick musical skills to express yourself with.

You can read more about some of the big changes season five will be making from the books, and be sure to refresh your memory on some of the vilest villains in all of Westeros prior to the show's season five premiere with this list. Game of Thrones returns to HBO April 12.
