Avengers: Age of Ultron hype is reaching a fever pitch. We are only a few weeks away from the film's May premiere, and it seems like every week another trailer for the film hits the Web.
This trailer, however, is different. Think back, if you will, to 1995. Movies were different then. We watched them on grainy VHS tapes. Nearly every summer blockbuster featured some booming, omnipresent voice telling us what to believe. Of course, there wasn't the Internet marketing machine that exists today.
It was a different age, and it is from that same age this latest Avengers: Age of Ultron spoof trailer hails from. Check it out below.
It's not just the classic Disney logo or the blurry moving pictures: it's the way the entire trailer is put together. From the movie trailer guy voice to the dramatic rundown of the film's stars, this trailer absolutely nails it. The music is a nice touch, too.
You know how it feels like every trailer nowadays features the same loud "bwaaaaaah" sound, as if it was ripped straight from one of Hans-Zimmer's film scores? The frantically escalating tone of the music in this trailer was kind of the go-to trailer music back in the '90s.
So, there you have it. You probably can't get any more excited for Avengers: Age of Ultron. Don't, however, get too excited about the now expected post-credits scene that seems to accompany every Marvel film. Avengers director Joss Whedon says Age of Ultron doesn't have one. Well, not one like the original Avengers had, anyway. There will definitely be a stinger scene shortly after the credits begin to roll. How else are we supposed to know what the next Marvel movie will be about? Just don't worry about sitting through all 10 minutes of scrolling names. You will be sadly disappointed.
Avengers: Age of Ultron lands in theaters May 1.
