I don't know if you're aware, but Sun., April 5 is kind of a big deal. Not only is it Easter Sunday and the premiere date for the final episodes of AMC's Mad Men, but it is also MLB Opening Day 2015.
Well, sort of. Opening Night would probably be a more appropriate label since the new season of Major League Baseball begins at 8:05 p.m. EST on April 5 with just one game. The St. Louis Cardinals will face the Chicago Cubs in the Windy City to kick off another season of America's pasttime.
The remaining 28 MLB teams will have their season openers on Mon., April 6, the usual day of the week for MLB Opening Day. Some key match-ups include the home opener for the New York Yankees versus the Toronto Blue Jays, the Boston Red Sox against the Philadelphia Phillies and the reigning World Series champs the San Francisco Giants against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The regular season will end on Oct. 4. That means the World Series would be slated to begin Oct. 28 with a seventh and final game happening on Nov. 5, if need be.
It's sure to be a season of rivalries, upsets and triumphs. Now who wouldn't want to have a front seat to all of that?
