11 Bizarre Celebrity Backstage Demands And Concert Riders For Jeremy Clarkson, Katy Perry, And More

One of the perks of being a celebrity is getting just about anything you want. If you're a Hollywood A-lister, then you probably can put the money where your mouth is when it comes to wanting extravagant things.

It must be nice to have people waiting on you 24/7, ready to fullfill your demands no matter how small or strange. Some people are hired with the sole purpose to help a celebrity down the stairs or hold their drinks for them.

The saying goes "ask and you shall receive," but some celebrities really take their demands to the extreme when requesting things to have in their green rooms, the area where they wait before shows. Comfort—and having everything you want exactly how you like it—is key to happiness when on set for a TV show, film, interview, or music tour. Some celebrities are just straight up divas. Here are the most bizarre celebrity demands.

Kanye West

Yezzus! Of course Kim K's husband would be on the list of bizarre green room demands. Although the BBC denied rumors that West ordered the carpets be ironed because they were bumpy, the rapper has asked for all-white decor in his dressing room, along with an $8,000 bed in the green room for daughter North, with a TV full of her favorite shows, and a personal chef in case she wants a gourmet snack.

Jeremy Clarkson

Jeremy Clarkson along with his other Top Gear stars had a list of 120 items that needed to be in the green room on set for their show. Some of these items included: hair wax, a couch that can comfortably seat six "one of whom is 6 ft. 3 in. and likes to lie down," steak knives, balsamic vinegar, HP Sauce, Scrabble and Pictionary, 24 bottles of Peroni beer, Bombay Sapphire gin, tonic, ice and lemon chilled in a fridge with at least four shelves. Other bizarre demands were drinks be served to them on tables covered with linen, and the green room must be near a McDonald's.

Katy Perry

Katy Perry allegedly had an extensive rider (industry term for the list of demands the talent wants backstage) that includes fruits and wines during her "Prismatic tour," but the most bizarre item on the list was that none of the staff speak to her. Other demands included her dressing room being filled with custom-made French lamps, and a director's chair with her name printed on it, a fridge with a glass door and egg chairs. She also asked for a separate room to "relax" in that must be filled with fresh pink and white flowers.

Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj needs to fuel up during her long work days, so her demands consist of buckets of spicy fried chicken, no thighs, mostly wings, and lemonade. She also requests candles that only smell like baked goods.

Mariah Carey

Of course Mariah Carey is a diva; she's Mariah Carey. Her green room demands include kittens, Cristal, and "bendy straws" which will be enjoyed without harsh lighting in a living room area that is 75 degrees with sofas that are either black, dark gray, cream, or dark pink with no busy patterns. She also needs two air purifiers, an assistant to get rid of her gum and another one to help her on staircases.

David Hasselhoff

This is probably the most bizarre demand on the list. David Hasselhoff requests there be a life-sized cardboard cutout of himself in his dressing rooms. Is it because he likes to look at himself that much or does he forget what he looks like? Either way, why not just ask for a mirror? We still hope this one is a joke.

Lady Gaga

Never mind, leave it to Gaga to make the craziest rider demand. While on tour, she requested a mannequin with puffy pink pubic hair, posters of Queen, Billie Holiday and David Bowie, and peanut butter with flax seed that has no more than 4 grams of sugar. She also asks that green rooms be stocked with 28 water bottles left at room temperature and another 28 be chilled.

Jennifer Lopez

The American Idol host is all about the color white. She demands white roses or lilies, white furniture, white candles, and white food like fish.

Diddy

Lopez's former lover is known for also having high demands. Sean Combs, aka Diddy, apparently asks for 204 towels, 20 bars of soap, a bunch of liquor including a bottle of Dom Perignon, Sweet Tarts and cheddar cheese.

Prince

Prince demands that he has a doctor on call to give him B-12 shots. He also asks for jasmine- and lavender-scented candles, and that all the food be wrapped in plastic wrap.

Christina Aguilera

Aguilera is known for her big voice, but she also has some interesting demands on the set of The Voice. She asks that that a masseur be on call to rub her feet, along with Flintstone vitamins, soy cheese, an organic food spread without plastic or Styrofoam, and Nesquik.

This list proves that if you are famous, you can ask for just about anything, whether it's heavily seasoned baked chicken, like Beyoncé, or that no one talk to you directly, like Justin Bieber.
