Because putting grounds into a filter, then adding water into a coffee pot and pushing a button is too much work, the Keurig was created to conveniently make your morning coffee with just one simple push of a button.
While Keurig machines are the most genius thing ever invented for coffee lovers, what would happen if someone created a Keurig specifically for drinking?
Well, one startup made this genius idea a reality by creating a Keurig for Jell-O shots to conveniently help you get drunk — because 'Merica.
Lake Oswego-based startup Food and Beverage Innovations is the maker behind the Keurig-like machine, called the Jevo, which makes 20 individual alcoholic or non-alcoholic Jell-O shots.
The device conveniently makes Jell-O shots in just 10 minutes, meaning spring breakers and college kids across America will be able to make and serve their shots in record-breaking time since they normally take three-to-five hours to make.
"The idea came up a few years ago, really because there was no automation around making gelatin," CEO Jett Jetton says. "We were sitting here looking at technology like Keurig and Soda Stream, where you choose the flavor pod and the machine does the work, but there was nothing around the archaic, time-consuming and inconsistent process of making gelatin."
The Jevo will mainly be sold in bars, like the Nightclub and Bar Show in Las Vegas, since everyday partiers probably don't need mass amounts of Jell-O shots on the regular.
The high-tech machine has a self-cleaning system, a touchscreen interface, Wi-Fi and an accompanying app to help bars promote the invention.
Since you will probably be getting drunk when using this, the Jevo allows you to just chill your Jell-O shots so you can save some for later.
But while you can preorder the Jevo now, chances are you will probably stick to making your Jell-O shots the old-fashioned way. Get ready for shots, shots, shots with these five recipes.
