'Fantastic Four' Reboot News: First Glimpse At The Thing Is A Washed Out Instagram Photo

It seems nearly everything about 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four reboot is a closely guarded secret. Aside from the brief teaser trailer released earlier this year we've seen little or the film and still aren't sure what to expect when the movie lands in theaters this summer.

That secrecy extends to Jamie Bell's The Thing as well. The man-turned-rock-hero could scarcely be seen in the film's trailer. Thankfully, now we have our first good look at The Thing as a whole and, well, he looks like The Thing.

This is good news, of course. The image comes from Instagram via albertoheineken26, as a man stands in front of a large promotional display for the upcoming film. It's the first time we've seen The Thing from the front.

He looks good! Unlike the foam-rubber suit worn by Michael Chiklis to bring The Thing to life in the previous Fantastic Four films, director Josh Trank's Thing is an all CGI creation, much like the Hulk in the Avengers.

He looms tall over the rest of his team members and doesn't look all that happy to have been turned into stone. That sounds about right. However, we still don't know the answer to the burning question: is he wearing pants? (our money is on "nope")

We also get a good look at the rest of the cast, with Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara as the Invisible Woman and Michael B. Jordan as the Human Torch.

Let's hope 20th Century Fox will release some high-quality, official promotional images soon, as it's always a little disappointing for our first look at a film to be via out of focus, washed-out social media posts.

Fantastic Four will be in theaters Aug. 7.
