In the debate between Apple vs. Samsung smartphones, an Apple employee would be the last person you would expect to not be on #teamiPhone. Better yet, you would never imagine them suggesting a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 over an iPad, or to tell you that Apple products aren't the best on the market.
But some customers were unlikely enough to be helped by these bad apples Apple workers when they walked into a prank from a few YouTube pranksters.
Four YouTubers from the channel NelkFilmz put on fake Apple T-shirts and act like they worked there to prank customers in a video that has received over 50,000 views in just two days.
In the prank, the fake Apple employees steer customers clear from purchasing Apple products and instead promote Microsoft and Samsung.
When one customer asked how he can go about getting a new iPhone, one of the fake workers tell him that he would be better off with a different phone.
"Honestly, I wouldn't get an iPhone," he says. "Maybe like a Microsoft, or a Samsung or something like that," he suggests.
He continues to tell the customer that even though he works there, he would be lying to say he recommends Apple products. The customer seems to accept the honesty and leaves the store—without his new phone.
Another prankster tells a customer who is having trouble with his iPad Air that this tablet is "so bad," and instead suggests a Microsoft tablet.
"Something about Apple, though, it just looks weird," he tells the gentleman in their man-to-man conversation. His Microsoft promotion goes as far as telling the customer he should sell his iPad and then go to the Microsoft store in the mall. Unfortuntely, a real Apple employee catches on and the prankster is forced to quit.
But the pranks keep on coming. When a woman asked about the iPhone 6 Plus, another one of the pranksters tells her how bad a choice that is, even when the store manager comes over.
"Strange you are working here," another customer says after hearing the fake employee say the Apple is a bad company.
Eventually all the pranksters quit—to the pleasure of the real Apple workers—but you can watch the full prank below.
