AT&T has just announced it is rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop for the Galaxy Note 3, and customers report already receiving the update.
After a long dry spell, AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note customers can rejoice, as the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is joining the Galaxy Note 4 in receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. As we've already reported, the carrier announced that it is officially releasing the update for the Galaxy Note 4 on its network. AT&T has also announced the Galaxy Note 3 is ready to get a taste of Lollipop.
AT&T customers had just about had it with the delays and lack of timeliness on the Lollipop updates for Samsung's lineup of phablets. When the Note 4 was announced last September, buyers were promised that the update would be available in December, and with March almost history and Samsung getting ready to release two new flagship smartphones with Android 5.0 lollipop already installed out of the box, AT&T customers were fit to be tied.
Many took to Twitter and online forums and message boards to express their dismay. Numerous customers threatened to switch carriers if AT&T didn't step up its game in releasing Lollipop updates to its line of devices, with some customers already claiming to have ditched the carrier.
It looks like things are turning around now, with the Note 3 now added to the list of devices on AT&T receiving the update, which T-Mobile Note 3 owners have already received. AT&T still hasn't released the update for Samsung's popular Galaxy S5 smartphone yet, even though all other major US carriers — Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile— have rolled out on their networks. We'll be sure to keep you posted on any Android 5.0 Lollipop update news for the AT&T Galaxy S5. Meanwhile, have you received the update yet for your Galaxy Note 3? Let us know in the comments below.
