'Dragon Age: Inquisition' Single-Player DLC Releases March 24 For Xbox One And PC

Bioware's Dragon Age: Inquisition won numerous "Game of the Year" honorswhen it released last year and quickly become a favorite for RPG lovers. Even after playing for dozens upon dozens of hours, fans have been wondering if we might see additional single-player DLC to expand on the game's already massive world, as we saw in Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2.

Now, we have a definitive answer. Yes, Dragon Age: Inquisition is getting DLC. Better yet, it will be here tomorrow, March 24, along with a trailer.

Talk about a surprise announcement. Called "Jaws of Hakkon," the game's first DLC add-on will be available first on Xbox One and PC. Gamers on other platforms will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on the DLC, though there currently isn't an exact date for when the DLC will come to other platforms.

We don't yet know what all the DLC will entail, but judging from the name it will likely revolve around the Dragon Age god Hakkon Wintersbreath. Four leaked achievements provide some details on what players will be doing in the DLC as well as provide some associated artwork. Players will be destroying "winter shards," winning the friendship of the "Avvar of Stone-Bear Hold" and dispelling a myth from ancient days. Judging from the artwork, some dragon-slaying may also be involved. You know, typical Dragon Age stuff.

The Avvar, a barbarian tribe, are already featured in Dragon Age: Inquisition. A group of them take Inquisition forces hostage, and it is up to the player to save them in one of the game's numerous side missions. After completing the mission, an Avvar shaman known as Sky Watcher can be persuaded to join the Inquisition army.
