These days, just about every sports game is available on a plethora of different platforms: for instance, each Madden game sees release on no less than four different consoles. However, baseball games are handled a bit differently: for years, the best of the bunch has been MLB The Show, and the games have always been exclusive to Sony's PlayStation platforms. The games were some of the best sports titles in the PlayStation 3's library, and Sony is hoping to keep the tradition going with MLB 15: The Show.
That being said, the last few trailers have been a bit on the slow side - Sony released a trailer showing nothing but licensed gear - so the latest trailer had to do things differently. So, why not go with full-blown patriotism and a bit of classic flair?
Honestly, the only thing that's missing from the trailer is a bald eagle wearing a ball cap while squawking at Pete Rose.
In all seriousness, MLB 15 The Show has a lot going for it: it's not just a gorgeous PlayStation 4 game, but it's doing quite a bit to shake up the existing formula. For the first time in the series, baseball legends will be playable, and it's not as if the best players ever will be locked off in their own modes. While the legends are limited to one per team, classic players can be used right alongside the modern MLB roster - it's not something you see often in sports games (unless it's a WWE game, that is).
The best part? The game's practically here: MLB 15 The Show is set to arrive on March 31.
