The Walking Dead Recap: 'Try' Episode Preps You For Season Finale

While the "Try" episode of The Walking Dead did not feature any brutal deaths such as in the last episode "Spend," tensions continued to rise in what was supposedly the utopia within Alexandria's walls.

All the residents were mourning after the horrific deaths of Noah and Aiden in the previous episode, with Deanna still clearly disturbed by what Father Gabriel told her about the true nature of Rick's group.

While Rick and Carol are deciding how to deal with Pete, with the last episode ending with Carol's statement that Rick will just have to kill the abusive father, it turned out that Deanna was completely aware of the situation when Rick talked to her about it. However, because Pete is a surgeon that has saved many lives with his skills and expertise, Deanna has chosen to turn a blind eye because of his value to Alexandria.

Rick's confrontation with Pete had him suggest that either Pete would be separated from his wife Jessie, or for him to be killed. Deanna does not agree with either suggestion, which only prevented Rick from pulling the trigger on Pete but did not stop him from engaging in a brutal fistfight with the man.

Rick went berserk, pulling out his gun when Deanna went to him and Pete to get them both back up, claiming that the people in Alexdanria did not know how the real world worked. It took a Michonne hit on Rick's head to knock him out and shut him up.

Elsewhere, Sasha was outside of Alexandria to hunt down zombies, many of which bore the strange "W" mark that has been seen in the past episodes. Carl and Enid also went out of the walls, with Carl discovering his similarities with Enid after the two baited walkers in the forest. However, a horde came their way, with the two being forced to hide within the hollow of a tree, where they were too close to each other that they were almost kissing.

Daryl and Aaron were outside Alexandria's walls too, where they found a female zombie tied up to a tree with her internal organs gutted out, while also bearing the "W" mark on her forehead.

Glenn and Nicholas, on the other hand, were telling opposing stories regarding what happened in the run featured in the previous week's episode that led to the deaths of Noah and Aiden. Nicholas made himself look like a tragic hero and claiming that Glenn and his group need to go. Glenn, who actually saved Nicholas, said that Nicholas will not be pulling off a stunt similar to what he did in the failed run.

The major question surrounding the season finale next week revolves around the fate of Rick, who may just have punched his ticket out of Alexandria, or perhaps for his entire group. In addition, perhaps the "W" marks in the foreheads of the zombies will also be explained.
