'Mortal Kombat X' DLC Packs Include New Characters And Horror Skins

Fans have anxiously been awaiting the reveal of Mortal Kombat X's DLC characters, and after a series of rumors and leaks, NetherRealm Studios is finally making dreams come true by formally announcing the game's DLC lineup.

We've already seen that Jason Voorhees of Friday the 13th would be joining the fighting roster, along with everybody's favorite intergalactic hunter, the Predator. But alongside Jason and Predator are two returning Mortal Kombat characters - Tremor and Tanya.

Each character will be available separately or together in the $29.99 Kombat Pack DLC. However, these costumes and characters will be available first in the Kombat Pack, meaning if you want to buy the characters a la carte you will have to wait a little longer. Here are all the DLC packs that will be available and what they each include:

The Ultimate Horror Pack:
Playable character Jason Voorhees
Horror skins Vampiress Mileena, Kraken Reptile and Pharaoh Ermac

The Klassic Pack #1:
Playable character Tanya
Klassic skins for Kano, Sonya and Liu Kang

The Predator / Prey Pack:
Playable character Predator
Predator-themed skins Commando Johnny, Infrared Scorpion and Carl Weathers as Jax

The Klassic Pack #2:
Playable character, Tremor
Klassic skins for Quan Chi, Jax and Kung Lao

The "Predator/Prey" pack, in particular, sounds fantastic, as it comes with Predator-themed skins for a number of characters. These aren't just slight costume tweaks either - the Predator pack adds a costume that transforms Jax into Carl Weathers, the actor famous for playing Apollo Creed in the Rocky series as well as Dillon in the original Predator movie.

No word yet on when each of these packs will be available. Mortal Kombat X releases on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on April 14. Gamers waiting to play the title on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will have to wait until the summer. In the meantime you can read our guest fighter wishlist to see who we still want to see in Mortal Kombat X (we predicted Jason and Predator weeks ago, so go us!). We are still waiting for Spawn to make his grand appearance.
