HTC has pretty much confirmed that its next flagship smartphone and successor to the HTC One will be named "All New HTC One" and it's coming March 25.
Many smartphone fans expected to see HTC unveil the successor to its wildly popular HTC One at Mobile World Congress. The company used last year's show to announce the HTC One where the smartphone stole the show and was named "Best Mobile Device". At this year's conference Samsung kicked off the show by announcing its highly anticipated Galaxy S5 and rather getting lost in the news, HTC decided to give its 2014 flagship smartphone its very own event scheduled for March 25. HTC is using the tagline of "The best is about to get better."
HTC hasn't been able to keep its upcoming smartphone a secret and images and video of the phone have leaked the multiple times. Design-wise the company is using the same recipe it used for last year's model, a sleek anodized aluminum case, gorgeous display, and top of the line specs. As leaked images have shown, the All New HTC One looks nearly identical to the current HTC One, except it will have dual-UltraPixel rear cameras and a larger 5-inch display. The upcoming handset is more of an evolutionary device than its predecessor and that's not necessarily a bad thing, since it will be going head to head with the Galaxy S5 and iPhone 5s, which can also be classified as evolutions.
Here's a complete run down of the reported specs of the All New HTC One. It is expected to feature a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD display, run Android 4.4.2 KitKat with HTC Sense 6. The handset will likely use a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and 2GB of RAM to provide a snappy user experience.
The smartphone will ship with dual UltraPixel rear cameras with dual LED True Tone Flash and a 5-megapixel front facing camera for video chat and selfies. The All New HTC One is expected to be offered in 16GB and 32GB of internal storage and possibly include a microSD expansion slot. Recent reports have also suggested the smartphone could ship with a large 2,900 mAh non-removable battery.
HTC fans will have wait until March 25 to know the exact details of the All New HTC One, which Tech Times will be covering so check back for further updates..
