'World Of Warcraft' Player Reaches Level 100 By Picking Flowers

Leveling up in World of Warcraft isn't hard. You kill monsters, complete quests and explore new areas to gain experience points. That's assuming you've chosen one of the game's factions to battle alongside. If you don't, well, leveling up is going to be much more difficult for you.

But it's not impossible, as one devoted WoW player named Neutral Agent has shown. Neutral Agent's Pandaren character Doubleagent is currently the only level 100 character in Azeroth to have never sided with the Alliance of Horde. It shouldn't be possible, but through sheer determination Neutral Agent has accomplished the feat.

Neutral Agent's character is a Pandaren, the only playable race that begins the game neutral. Over the course of the Pandaren starter zone, players meet up with members of the Alliance and Horde before choosing which faction to join. Players are then swept off the starter island to join a side, making it impossible to return to their once neutral status. From there players can take on quests and defeat monsters throughout the world like any other race in the game.

Neutral Agent, however, thought it would be fun to hit the game's max level cap without ever fighting in the war between Horde and Alliance. After completing all the quests in the starter zone and outleveling enemies in the zone so they no longer granted experience, Neutral Agent began the mind-numbing process of picking flowers with his herbalism skill to level up. The amount of experience rewarding by gathering herbs is tiny compared to completing quests and killing monsters, but that didn't stop him.

He also used the game's pet battle system to gain some extra experience, which required him to log into another character, do the pet battle quest (which are shared across characters), log out without turning it in and then logging back onto the Pandaren character to complete it.

He reached level 90 in the game's last expansion using these methods and now he's reached level 100 the same way. To say it was slow going is an understatement. The game's Warlords of Draenor expansion released in November, and most players who started playing at launch reached the level cap in just a few days or weeks. For Neutral Agent, it took more than three months, which he documented on Twitter.

It's a darn impressive feat. While most players would call him crazy, it's hard not to admire Neutral Agent's sheer will power. On the plus side, now that he is at level 100 he won't have to grind levels anymore. At least until the game's next expansion comes out.
