Carly Rae Jepsen's 'I Really Like You’ Could Be Her Comeback Single

If you're looking for another song to get stuck in your head, look no further! Carly Rae Jepsen has just released a new song and it's really really really catchy.

The song hit iTunes on Sunday (Mar. 1) just around midnight and has that 80s new wave throwback sound that has become so popular as of late (re: Taylor Swift's 1989). The song was produced by Peter Svensson who also produced and wrote Ariana Grande's "Love Me Harder," and has worked with Justin Bieber and Icona Pop.

“I Really Like You” has the same type of simple and sweet lyrics that made “Call Me Maybe” such an earworm way back when. And while not too much is known about Jepsen’s upcoming album, we do know that music heavyweights Dev Hynes, Ariel Rechtshaid, Tegan & Sara, and Jack Antonoff are all working on her album. Jepsen seems well positioned for a comeback and this song may just be the single that spearheads it all. Because wouldn’t it be nice to have some more optimistic, nonsensical pop music in our world to brighten our day?

And to add icing to the already sugary sweet cake, Jepsen’s new music video will feature Tom Hanks and Justin Bieber. If that weird merging of two completely different spirit animals doesn't signal some type of comeback, I don't know what does.
