It sounds like a typical weekend night: cuddle up on the couch with a glass of wine, while swiping for a potential match on Tinder as you binge on Orange Is The New Black. But imagine if Blanca Flores left her bathroom stall just to tell you that the person you are considering is a definite swipe to the left?
Well, this kind of happened because some of the cast of OITNB recently went on Tinder to help decide whether matches needed to go to the left, to the right, and what users should message when they finally make a match.
If it sounds strange to you that the actual cast would help you lock down a date, well it kind of is, and that makes for good TV. This was all made possible thanks to comedian and relationship editor Lane Moore from Cosmpolitan.com. Moore holds a monthly event in Brooklyn for her show, Tinder Live! With Lane Moore, where she discusses the popular dating apps, with tips, tricks and real-time swiping.
During February's event at The Knitting Factory, actresses Connie Shulman (Yoga Jones), Beth Fowler (Sister Jane Ingalls), and Lin Tucci (Anita DeMarco) joined Moore to talk all things Tinder.
The OITNB panel gave out some great tips like claiming that a guy is a keeper if he has tequila in his profile picture. Moore, meanwhile, swiped left and right while cracking jokes to a highly entertained audience.
Moore then decides to message some of the users, mostly consisting of emojis. She even gets one poor soul on the phone, telling him that she is hanging out with the cast of OITNB. He couldn't care less because it seems he was only looking for a little lovin'. The guy however, has a change of heart and decides he doesn't want to meet up with Moore.
