Fashionable fans of the Sailor Moon anime series have some really nice designer goodies to get excited about. Top designers Samantha Vega and Anna Sui have created their own Sailor Moon product lines in honor of the series' 20th anniversary, including designer bags and fashion accessories.
There is, however, just one catch. This designer merchandise is only available at Isetan Department Stores in Japan. However, fans in other parts of the world can expect these items to turn up on eBay as soon as they go on sale.
First up are the Samantha Vega handbags. The Moonstick Leather Bag comes in white and sports a small golden Sailor Moon emblem. For more daring fashionistas, though, there is the Luna fake leather bag, which is shaped like a cat with the sideways moon emblem that sports Luna's forehead. If we had to choose, we'd go with the Luna bag, all the way.
Of course, no purse is complete without a wallet to hold all that money in (if you have any left after purchasing the bags), so be sure to pick up one of the Sailor Guardians long wallets. There's one for each sailor guardian, including Chibi-Usa.
Finally, the Samantha Vega line features a mini multi-case, one for each sailor senshi. These are good for carrying around small items, like lipstick.
Anna Sui items feature bags, accessories, t-shirts and plastic folders. The bags come in two colors and feature the symbols of all the sailor scouts.
These items are only available for a limited time: from March 25 to 31. Although Isetan does have an online store, there is no word yet as to whether you can buy this merchandise there. Prices also have not yet been released, but it's likely that considering the designers involved, these things won't come cheaply.
During the sale event, other items, such as jewelry and other accessories will be available, but again, grab them while they're hot or prepare to pay a lot more on eBay later.
Meanwhile, don't forget that the Sailor Moon princess tiara is still available for the low price of around $3,000 U.S. dollars. If you're going to show your love of Sailor Moon, might as well go all the way, right?
