What's cooler than a new Sleater-Kinney music video? A Sleater-Kinney music video done in the style of Bob's Burgers, that's what.
The punk-rock trio gets animated in the new music video for "New Wave," the latest song off of their comeback LP No Cities to Love. In the video, Tina, Gene and Louise Belcher get their own private concert of the song with Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker on guitar and vocals and Janet Weiss on drums. Of course, Bob and Linda make a little cameo too.
If we could all just look as happy as the Belcher kids do when they bust a move in this video, the world would be a much better place. But then again, if we could all have Sleater-Kinney play a private set in our very own homes, that would make the world a much better place too.
This collaboration actually makes a lot of sense. Brownstein is a comedy queen these days, starring on the IFC sketch comedy show Portlandia opposite Fred Armisen and also guest starred on The Simpsons in 2012. Bob's Burgers is also an extremely musical show with the Belchers bursting into song in nearly every episode. There's also supposed to be an actual Bob's Burgers album released one of these days. This truly is a match made in heaven.
